David Lloyd has announced he is to leave Sky Sports after a 22 year stint in the Commentary Box.

Sunday December 19th
Noah Cronshaw has been selected for the Lancashire League Under 11s squad for the 2022 season. Noah is the first player to represent the club at this Inter League level for nearly ten years.

Thursday December 16th
The Junior Section Christmas Party which was due to be held on Sunday has been cancelled.

Friday November 26th
Sam Heap has been named as Accrington's third team captain for next season.

Thursday November 25th
Accrington have announced the signing of five new players. Joining the club are ex Lowerhouse wicketkeeper/batsman Ben Gorton (Bury), Nathan Mashiter (Whalley), Asmat Mehmood (Church) and Afrus Ali and Mohammed Tayyib (both Rawtenstall). Senior indoor nets will begin on Thursday 27th January through to 7th April 19:30 til 21:30 at St Christophers.

Wednesday November 17th
Accrington will begin the 2022 season with a local derby against Church on Sunday April 17th. [More]

Thursday November 11th
Accrington have arranged a pre-season friendly at Cockermouth on Saturday April 9th.

Friday November 5th
The funeral of Bob Barnes will take place on Tuesday 16th November at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium followed by a wake in the Peel Park Hotel afterwards.

Monday November 1st
Former Accrington player Bob Barnes passed away on Friday morning. Bob played one match for the first team in 1964. He returned to the club in 1982 to play in and later captain the fourth team. Deepest condolences to Bob's family.

Friday October 29th
There were awards at tonight's annual Lancashire League Dinner for Toby Bulcock and new professional Jacob Clarke. Toby won the Division 2 Bowling Award for Most Wickets and Jacob won the Division 1 Bowling Performance Award for taking 6-21 in his final match for Ramsbottom.

The club is hosting a Curry Night on Saturday November 20th. [More]

Wednesday October 27th
Accrington have been drawn at Darwen in the 1st Round of the 2022 Worsley Cup. The match is due to be played on Sunday May 8th.

All rounder Tom Walker picked up three prizes at Accrington's Annual Presentation Night. [More]

Accrington play their final match of the season on Sunday when they visit fifth placed Littleborough at Hare Hill. Both clubs go into the match on the back of successive victories. Littleborough's Clinton Perren is the division's leading amateur run scorer following his match winning unbeaten century at Greenmount. Accrington professional Lasith Lakshan is finishing the season strongly with match winning contributions with both bat and ball in the last two matches. Accrington make three changes with Toc Hussain, George Mills and Antonio Lo-Giudice replacing Tom Walker, Riley Armstrong and Andy Greenwood. The penultimate match of the season sees Accrington and Rishton meet at The Property Shop Arena on Sunday. Accrington professional Lasith Lakshan finally hit form with the bat last Sunday, striking a match winning unbeaten 116 to end an eight game losing run at Nelson. Riley Armstrong returns for Accrington in place of Damian Clarke. Rishton make five changes with Matthew Bradley, Kian Farnworth, Richie Fox, Brad Juliff and Ash Patel replacing Danny Curran, Luke Eddleston, Saj Patel, Josh Whitehead and Kelly Mall.

Accrington and Great Harwood meet in a local derby at the Property Shop Arena on Saturday. Two places and 15 points separate the clubs in the table with both sides having won four times. Accrington travel to West End to take on Division 2 leaders Church on Sunday in a local derby. Church won a thriller at Accrington by 1 wicket back in May. Accrington call up veteran David Ormerod who replaces Riley Armstrong. Church also make a change with Ryan North replacing Andrew Bentley.

Tom Walker hit 44 and took 3-45 to help Lancashire Junior League Under 18s beat Bolton League by 30 runs at Greenmount.

Wednesday July 7th
Accrington will be looking to notch a third home win in a row when they entertain leaders Haslingden on Saturday. Jordan Shannon's men came out on top in April winning by 52 runs. Ric Williams replaces Tariq Hussain in the Accrington team. Minhaj Bhada stands in as sub professional for Haslingden who also replace Joe Hayton with Oliver Lord. Accrington entertain Nelson on Saturday in the game postponed from June 13th. Accrington go in to the game, which will start at the earlier time of 12.30pm, in sixth place having beaten former leaders Littleborough last Sunday whilst Nelson are next to bottom with two wins. Accrington name an unchanged team. Neil Thompson returns for Nelson in place of Nick Burton. The second half of the season gets underway on Sunday with a first visit to Greenmount. The group stages conclude on Friday with a visit to Darwen.

Veteran Lenny Dewhurst is recalled for his first Lancashire League game since 2007 along with Yousuf Ali, Connor Tattersall, 2nd XI skipper Richard Williams, who will keep wicket, and a sub professional. Matt Wilson, Jon Hayhurst, George Mills, Riley Armstrong and professional Lasith Lakshan are all unavailable. Rishton name an unchanged team.

In the final weekend before the return of spectators, Accrington welcome long time rivals East Lancs still seeking for a first win of the season. Captained by Niall Boyle, East Lancs field an all amateur side this season. The visitors have one win and 2 points more than Accrington. The first double header weekend sees Accrington travel to Great Harwood for a local derby in the league on Saturday before hosting joint Division 1 leaders Norden in the Worsley Cup on Sunday. Accrington make a couple of changes with Ross Brown and Yousuf Ali replacing Tom Walker and Matt Taylor on Saturday. Great Harwood make one change with Nazakat Hussain replacing Jake Peake. The seconds host Great Harwood.

The visit of Norden on Sunday sees the welcome return to the club of record breaking professional Ashar Zaidi who led the club to the title in 2013 breaking Bobby Simpson's long standing club batting record in the process. Tom Walker and Matt Taylor return for Accrington in place of Ross Brown and Andy Greenwood. Norden will be without Harvey Fitton and will select their team after Saturday's game. The seconds travel to Norden.

Wednesday April 28th
Accrington host Church in a local derby on Sunday looking for a first win of the season after defeats to new club Greenmount and Haslingden. New professional Lasith Lakshan has arrived and is due to make his league debut alongside George Mills who replaces injured skipper Graeme Sneddon in the Accrington team. Church include new professional Sagar Trivedi who arrived in time to start the season. Phill Allen replaces Ryan North in the Church team. Church suffered their first defeat since 2019 last Sunday when they were beaten by Littleborough. The clubs have met on 251 occasions in the Lancashire League with Accrington winning 87, Church 79 and 85 games finishing as draws. The seconds also travel to Church on Sunday.

Ross Brown and Matt Taylor come in to a 12 man squad for Accrington's game at Haslingden on Sunday. Yousuf Ali drops out. The in-form Padiham professional Jack Edgar again stands in for Accrington. Haslingden name an unchanged team with Samit Patel again standing in as professional. Both clubs were beaten last Sunday with Accrington picking up 5 batting bonus points against Greenmount and Haslingden notching two bowling bonus points at Littleborough. Accrington had a 6 wicket win over Todmorden at Centre Vale in the club's final pre-season friendly. Jimmy Hayhurst took 6-51 in the home sides 152 all out. Accrington welcome the Lancashire League's newest club Greenmount when the season opens on Sunday. Jack Edgar stands in as sub professional for Accrington who also welcome old boys Stuart Crabtree and Toby Bulcock back to the club. Veteran Matt Wilson will keep wicket. Accrington went down to a 6 wicket defeat at Chorley after the game was switched to Windsor Park following last night's snow. Matt Wilson top scored with 20 and last man Matt Jones hit an unbeaten 14 in Accrington's 66 all out. It took the home side 16.5 overs to knock off the runs. Scorecard

Saturday's 2nd team friendly against Padiham has been cancelled. Sunday's match against Chorley will now start at 12.30 and will be a 45 overs a-side game. Please note spectators are not allowed.

Sunday April 4th
Toby Bulcock starred with 47 and 3 wickets in a 68 run defeat to Padiham on his return to the club. Another old boy Stuart Crabtree hit 15 and Matt Wilson 16 in Accrington's 139-8. Toby took 3-42 from 8 overs with Ben Makin (1-32), Tom Walker (1-34) and Toc Hussain (1-42) also picking up a wicket apiece in Padiham's 207-8. Scorecard

The club is delighted that Hyndburn Council have agreed to the club's proposal to name the new road leading to the ground after our Hon Patron. [More].

Accrington have signed Sri Lankan Lasith Lakshan as professional for the 2021 season. [More]

In the absence of the usual AGM which we are hoping to hold later, the Management Committee have agreed to keep subs same for 2021. However the Junior Committee have changed the junior membership slightly to bring it more in line with the cost of our All Stars program. [Subs]

Sunday March 7th
The club is saddened to learn of the passing of Audrey Westwell, wife of Life Member Peter. Audrey was a former Chair of the Ladies Committee for many years. Deepest condolences to Audrey's family.

Saturday March 6th
Sammu Ashan will not be joining Accrington as professional for the coming season due to personal reasons. The club hopes to announce a replacement professional soon.

The seconds will host Padiham 2nds in a pre-season friendly on Saturday April 10th.

Former Accrington player Glyn Davies has passed away at the age of 62. Glyn made his first team debut in 1974, playing 25 games in the senior side with his last appearance being in 1989, two seasons after returning to the club following a spell in the Accrington League with Taverners.
