Accrington are now just 1 point behind leaders Burnley after a 5 point win over Todmorden at Thorneyholme Road. Alan Worsick took 6-26 to dismiss the visitors for 103. Skipper Ian Smith top scored with 38, professional Mohsin Khan made 17 and Jim Clayton 16 for Todmorden. Ian Birtwistle (2-25) and Alan Kennedy (2-17) also chipped in with a couple of wickets apiece. Geoff Hayhurst (36), John Swanney (29), Malcolm Taylor (20 not out) and Worsick (14 not out) then powered Accrington to a 6 wicket win. The champions have 47 points.
