Thursday December 8th
The club is pleased to announce that Graeme Sneddon will continue as club and first XI captain along with the new appointment of Afrus Ali who will captain the 2nd XI. The 3rd XI will be captained by Waqar Ashraf. Waqar took on the captaincy part way through last season in difficult circumstances due to player availability and brought some much needed stability to the team.

The club has also confirmed the first pre-season friendly of 2023 on Sunday April 9th at home to Lostock followed by Captains Night in the Clubhouse. Live music will kick start the 2023 season.

Sunday December 4th
The thirds begin the 2023 season at Rawtenstall on Sunday April 9th. The season ends on Bank Holiday Monday with a trip to Crompton. [Fixtures]

Long serving batsman Andrew Greenwood won the Champagne Moment at Accrington's Senior Presentation Night. [More]

Thursday November 10th
Accrington will begin the 2023 season at Nelson on Sunday April 16th. As last year the first home game is against East Lancs on Sunday April 23rd. Accrington play at Church on Sunday May 7th and entertain Rishton the following Sunday. the season ends on Sunday September 10th with a trip to Middleton. Fixtures

The funeral of former Lancashire League Secretary Lionel Cooke will take place on Wednesday November 16th at 12.15 at Pleasington Crematorium.

Saturday November 5th
Accrington host Enfield on the opening Friday night of the 2023 season T20 Competition on May 26th. Accrington travel to Great Harwood on June 2nd and Colne on June 9th. Accrington round off their JWL Bitter Group campaign with home games against Church on June 16th and Burnley on June 23rd.

Wednesday November 2nd
The club is saddened to learn of the passing of former Lancashire League Secretary and Accrington memember Lionel Cooke. [More]

Wednesday October 26th
Accrington have been drawn in the JWL Bitter Group along with Burnley, Church, Colne, Enfield, and Great Harwood. The dates for 2023 T20 group games will be Friday May 26th, June 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd.

The club have received a bye in the 1st Round of the Worsley Cup at tonight's Lancashire League meeting.

Accrington have been drawn away to local rivals Enfield in the Junior Cup semi finals. Lowerhouse will host Great Harwood in the other semi final. The games will be played on Sunday July 10th.

Sunday June 19th
The seconds reached the Junior Cup semi finals by beating Todmorden by 89 runs at Centre Vale. The seconds posted a club 2nd XI record 337-8 with Afrus Ali making 118, Sam Heap 84 and Mohammed Tayyib 53. Yousuf Ali took 6-64 and Afrus Ali 3-40 to bowl Todmorden out for 248. Scorecard

The seconds are through to the Junior Cup quarter finals after a hard fought win over Rochdale at the Property Shop Arena. Len Dewhurst's men fought back from 55-6 to post 163 all out thanks to Yousuf Ali (41), Waqar Ashraf (31), Antonio Lo-Giudice (23) and Waleed Majeed (19). There will be a ground clean up day this Sunday from 9am in preparation for the new season. Any volunteers would be appreciated. This will be followed by a Players Meeting at 1pm. All players must attend.

Alice Clarke has been named in Thunder's squad of 14 players to undertake a joint training camp with Lancashire mens team in Dubai which leaves on Monday. Both squads will face a mix of training and matches during the trip.
