Improving Our Club
Wednesday February 16th 2022

We have been busy since the end of the 2021 season working hard to improve our facilities.

One of the key areas has been the players changing rooms and committee room.

Work had begun in early 2021 but due to COVID this took a back seat.

I am pleased to tell you that things have moved quickly with the creation of a ladies changing room, umpires room and a much-improved scorers area.

Improvements have also been made in the home and away dressing rooms with the away changing room having a full makeover, removing all the old panelling from the walls and taking the walls back to brick.

These walls have been boarded, plastered and have received a first coat of paint.

The home dressing room has had a lick of paint to the ceiling, walls and the benches around the room.

Improvements have also been made to the toilet area by introducing gender neutral facilities so that all players and officials can use them.

One of these toilet spaces joins the shower area which gives players and officials the ability to shower and change within a safe environment.

All the areas above have been plastered by Ray Alden and painted by Alan Cunliffe.

We thank these two especially but also the many other volunteers who have helped us so far on this project.

Probably one of the most pleasing improvements we have carried out is replacing all upstairs windows on the clubhouse.

This includes the three large windows at the front, two at the back and one on the side.

This has been long overdue, and we thank Jimmy Hayhurst from Ark Plastics for the install and Countryside Development for the funding through our continued partnership.

These improvements are due to be complete in time for our first home game starting with the 3rds on Saturday April 16th against Nelson.
