An unbroken last wicket stand took Rishton to a thrilling 1 wicket victory at Accrington. The last pair of Matthew Bradley (25 not out) and Andrew Hickey (6 not out) took Rishton to an unlikely win after they had needed 55 to win at the fall of the 7th wicket. Chasing 235 for victory professional Dale Phillips hit a run a ball 86 with four sixes and three fours. After losing Richie Fox (1) at 10, Josh Whitehead (29) and Phillips put on 50 before the amateur fell to Siraj Hussain. Mark Leathert (26) added another 60 with Phillips before being run out. Skipper Matt Leathert (5) fell at 143 and Jake Sanderson (6) departed at 168. Phillips fell to his opposite number Jacob Clarke (4-66) at 179 and 1 run later Danny Briggs (3) gave the same bowler a return catch. Matt Taylor had both Danny Curran (6) and Shaun Hutchinson (16) caught behind by Ric Williams to pave the way for Bradley and Hickey to secure the points with an heroic 24 run stand. An unbeaten 114 from Ben Gorton helped Accrington post their highest score of the season at The Property Shop Arena. Gorton hit fifteen boundaries in his second Lancashire League century, adding 131 for the 1st wicket with Clarke who hit eleven fours in making 72 in his 200th Lancashire League game for the club. Kian Farnworth (24) put on another 74 with Gorton before falling to Whitehead (2-20) who also picked up Ali Hasham (3). Skipper Graeme Sneddon was unbeaten on 6 when the innings closed on 234-3.
