Accrington were 49-1 from 8.1 overs when rain finally forced their first home match of the season against East Lancs to be abandoned. Professional Jacob Clarke took 4-42 and Ben Gorton picked up 3-48 in East Lancs 163-9. Joe Bolton was first to go caught cover by Siraj Hussain off the final ball of Clarke's first over before a run had been scored. Skipper James Westhead (6) was next to go caught by Kian Farnworth to give Matt Taylor his first Lancashire League wicket 19 years after his debut for Enfield. Wicketkeeper Ric Williams and Clarke teamed up to dismiss East Lancs professional Zahid Mansoor (2) and Mohsin Modhi (15) to have the visitors in trouble at 29.4. Gorton picked up Niall Boyle (8) at 60 but Eli Smith and John Turner put on 62 for the 6th wicket before Turner was trapped in front by Hussain for 24. Smith made 54, including six fours before falling to Gorton at 137. Clarke returned to remove Asad Shahid (7) at 155 and Gorton sent back Adam Bolton (12) at 163 leaving Ahsan Arif (7 not out) and Aadil Waghat (0 not out) unbeaten at the close. Clarke fell in Waghat's first over for a duck but Gorton was looking good on 37 and Hussain was on 7 when the game was called off.
