Accrington stay on top of the table after beating Church by 17 runs at Thorneyholme Road. Graham Lloyd top scored with 49, including six boundaries, in Accrington's 179 all out. Lloyd added 33 for the 6th wicket with Simon Hanson (14) and 48 for the 7th wicket with James Ormerod (13) after Church had reduced the home side to 80-5. Graeme Sneddon (24), Stuart Crabtree (13), Jimmy Hayhurst (13) and Paul Carroll (11) all made double figures. Andy Bentley picked up 5-72 and sub professional Kashif Saddique 3-42 for Church. Professional Roy Silva then removed both openers for ducks and Saddique was run out for 23 to put the home side on top. Phil Sykes was also run out and skipper David Ormerod (2-56) removed former Accrington man Adam Greenwood (10) and Sam Holt (6) to have the visitors struggling at 64-6. Levi Wolfenden fought back with another impressive knock, making 38 before falling to the wiles of Carroll (2-23) and skipper Phil Gilrane hit 18 before becoming run out number three. Bentley kept Church's hopes alive with an unbeaten 29, but when Sam Tucker lofted Silva (3-29) to Hanson on the boundary, the game was up.
