Accrington closed the gap on Rawtenstall to 5 points after a 55 run win over Colne at Thorneyholme Road. Accrington's 192-9 owed much to an 8th wicket stand of 73 between Zahir Afzal (29) and Graeme Sneddon, who hit an excellent 51 from 65 balls with six boundaries from the number nine slot in the order. Matthew Constable sparked a collapse, taking 4-54 after openers Paul Carroll (11) and Matt Wilson (17) had put on 39. Professional Blake Snijman also picked up 4-42 with Toby Bulcock (17) and Graham Lloyd (15) getting in the teens for Accrington who were struggling at 96-7 when Afzal was joined by Sneddon. Accrington's four man attack then shared the wickets with Afzal taking 3-41, skipper David Ormerod 2-51, Carroll 3-15 and Bulcock 2-26, including the vital wicket of Snijman with his first ball for 43. Chris Holt offered some resistance with 16 and Constable hit 15 at the bottom of the order.
