Accrington made it 24 points out of 24 with a 34 run win at Bacup. The visitors were again indebted to some stout lower order resistance after Chris Harris made the most of a lively wicket to pick up 7-53. Accrington had slumped to 52-6 but Stuart Crabtree (19) and Simon Hanson (35) took the total to 94 before Andrew Spencer removed Crabtree. Skipper David Ormerod hit an unbeaten 16 as he and Damian Clarke added a vital 20 runs for the last wicket to take the score to 133. Bacup stalwart David Thompson got it right at the tea interval when he said that Accrington had made 30 runs too many. And so it proved as Ormerod took 6-35 to make it 12 wickets in just two matches to dismiss his former club for 99. Opener Paul Gallagher top scored with 32 for Bacup.
