Accrington (12pts) beat Lowerhouse (1pt) by 46 runs

Accrington professional Nishit Shetty hit his third century of the season as his side continued to surprise with a 46 run win at champions Lowerhouse. The Indian hit 11 fours and five sixes in an innings of 110 after both openers Stuart Crabtree (0) and Graeme Sneddon (1) had gone cheaply. Sagawat Hussain (19) added 42 with Shetty before he was run out by a direct throw from Chris Bleazard, but the main stand of the innings was an extraordinary one. Number six Mick Horsfield made just 7 in a 5th wicket stand of 111 with his professional, ending on 30 not out after a late burst of stroke play. Veteran Matt Hope faces a a stiff Sunday after bowling 25 overs in taking 4-80. Sub professional Vinit Indulkar made 61 and Jon Finch 41 on his return, but David Ormerod increased his lead at the top of the amateur wicket-takers in picking up 5-79 from a 24.2 over spell. Shetty also picked up 4-48 with young wicketkeeper James Ormerod claiming three victims. Accrington move up to fourth place.
