Nelson moved closer to the Lancashire League title with an 8 wicket win over Accrington at Seedhill. Professional Joe Scuderi took 4-9, Jason Smith 2-9 and Michael Warburton 2-5 to bowl Accrington out for 83 in 38.1 overs. Martin Whittle top scored with 43 but the only other double figure score was Extras with 14. It took Nelson just 14.5 overs to wrap up maximum points for the loss of Chris Hartley (1) to professsional Sherwin Campbell and Chris Heap (7) to Ian Birtwistle. Richard Madden hit an unbeaten 34 and Scuderi an unbeaten 32 in an unbroken stand of 51 to keep Nelson at the top of the table with five matches left to play.
