Accrington v Haslingden
Accrington were beaten for the second time this season by defending champions Haslingden this time by 93 runs at Thorneyholme Road. Mike Ingham top scored with 53, including four fours and a six, in Haslingden's 182-6 in a rain reduced 35 overs a-side game. Ingham and opener Patrick Lord (49) put on 90 after the loss of professional Brad McNamara (0) to Mark Greenhalgh's second legal delivery of the innings. Charlie Lord also hit 31 and Mark Griffin an unbeaten 21 with skipper Mark Aspin (2-35) and Neil Holmes (2-64) picking up a couple of wickets apiece for the home side. Openers Nick Marsh and professional Sherwin Campbell put on 31 before Marsh (13) fell to Andrew Sidley. The medium pacer also removed Russ Edmonds and Paul Barratt both without scoring and Aspin (2) in a golden spell of 4 wickets in 13 balls for just 2 runs. Campbell was then run out for 25 at 47. Sidley (5-30) picked up his 5th wicket when he had Brian Holmes caught behind by Paul Marcroft without scoring. Mick Tracey removed Greenhalgh (7) and Holmes (15) with McNamara returning to send back Martin Whittle (14) and Justin Greenwood (0) leaving Ashley Amos unbeaten on 1 on his Lancashire League debut.
