An 86 run defeat at Enfield was Accrington's fourth in a row and eighth in nine matches to keep the club rooted to the foot of the table. Enfield professional Damien Fleming top scored with 75 in his team;s 233-7 and he then took 6-33 from 17 overs to restrict Accrington to 147-9. Openers Mushtaq Ahmed (18) and Mas Ahmed (20) put on 37. Gary Barker hit nine fours in making 57 with Fleming hitting six fours in his 75. The pair put on 87 for the 3rd wicket. John Crisp hit a swift unbeaten 28 with Mark Greenhalgh taking 4-60. Accrington lost early wickets on a regular basis to Fleming. A 5th wicket stand of 55 between Paul Barratt and martin Whittle took the score to 102 when Barratt was cleaned up by Fleming for 45. Whittle went on to complete his maiden Lancashire League half century, making 54, , including eight fours, before being caught behind by Andy McMinn off Damian Hartley (2-11) for 54. The only other player to make double figures was Greenhalgh who made 11 before becoming Fleming's final wicket at 147. Greenhalgh's fine start to the season earned him the Lancashire League's Under 23 Player of the month award for April/May. After missing the first match of the season, Greenhalgh picked up 18 wickets in five matches, including a match winning 7-26 against Church.
