A low scoring 28 overs a-side game at Thorneyholme Road went the way of Todmorden who returned to Yorkshire with a 7 wicket win. Stuart Parker took 5-32 and professional Paul Allott 1-20 off 14 overs to restrict Accrington to 53-6. At one stage Accrington were 0-2 and 4-5 with Parker having opener Neil Barnes (0), skipper Nick Marsh (0) and Billy Rawstron (1) all caught behind by David Whitehead. Parker also held a return catch off professional Neil Johnson (1). Mark Demaine was caught by Stuart Priestley off Parker without scoring to have the home side reeling on 4-5. Paul Barratt and Russell Edmonds added 19 before Edmonds offered a return catch to Allott for 5. Neil Holmes (14 not out) joined Barratt (31 not out) to take the score to 53-6 at the end of the innings. Another over was lost due to rain leaving Todmorden only needing 52 from 27 overs, a target they reached in the 23rd over for the loss of Priestley (6), Richard Eastwood (10) and Andy Barker (0).
