A fine all round performance by professional Neil Johnson took Accrington to an 8 wicket win at Rawtenstall. Johnson took 7-65 in Rawtenstall's 153-9 and then hit an unbeaten half century in a 41 overs a-side game. Johnson picked up openers John Kershaw (4) and Peter Wood (37), professional Michael Bevan (12), Glenn Barlow (1), Tim Skelton (23), Peter Seal (0) and Pat Rush (3). Matt Hanson was run out for 34 and Damian Clarke had Brian Terry caught by Johnson for 18. Skipper Bob Holmes was unbeaten on 5. Accrington openers Bob Collins and skipper Nick Marsh put on 67 before Collins was stumped by Peter Barnes off Bevan for 42. Marsh and Johnson took the score to 115 when Marsh was caught by Rush off Bevan for 32. Johnson hit seven fours and two sixes in his unbeaten 50 with Billy Rawstron also unbeaten on 14 when the points were secured in the 34th over. Scorecard
