Accrington went down to a 3 wicket defeat at Lowerhouse. Chasing Accrington's 158-8 only two men made double figures with 37 extras proving expensive for Accrington. Professional Neil Johnson top scored with 70 in the Accrington innings with Matt Hope taking a career best 4-46 and professional Cameron Williamson taking 4-27. The Australian removed Bob Collins for 9, caught behind by wicketkeeper Chris Scott at 14. Nine runs later he trapped skipper Nick Marsh in front without scoring. Billy Rawstron (24) added 48 with Johnson before he too was pinned in front by Williamson. Matt Hope joined the attack and sent back Paul Barratt (12) in his second over Mark Demaine made 16 before also falling to Hope at 136. The medium pacer then bagged the wicket of Johnson who hit five fours and a six during his 112 ball innings. Mark Greenhalgh (3) was Hope's next victim at 151 with Williamson cleaning up Martin Whittle (2) at 152. Neil Barnes (1 not out) and Neil Holmes (3 not out) were still there when the innings closed on 158-8. Johnson trapped Phil Astin (1) in front at 7 and Greenhalgh cleaned up Williamson without scoring at 13. Chris Bleazard and Stan Heaton then turned the match Lowerhouse's way with a 3rd wicket stand of 111 before Bleazard fell to Whittle for 45. Five runs later Heaton was caught and bowled by Johnson for 48. One run later Nick Hope was pinned in front by Johnson without scoring. John Procter was run out for 6 at 14 and skipper Jez Hope (4) fell to Demaine at 149. Matt Hope (6 not out) and Scott (8 not out) saw Lowerhouse to victory without further alarms in the 43rd over.
