East Lancs completed the double over Accrington with a comprehensive 8 wicket win at Alexandra Meadows. Openers Bob Collins (37) and skipper Nick Marsh (13) put on 55 before both men fell, Phil Mooney cleaning up Marsh and Paul Kelly having Collins caught by Colin Clemson. Accrington professional Dipak Patel made 29 in his final game for the club before returning home, caught by Stuart Clemson off Kelly (3-58). Paul Barratt (20) also fell to Kelly with Colin Clemson taking the catch at 115. Five runs later Martin Whittle was caught by Andy Clague off Ian Haworth for 8. Mark Demaine hit three sixes in an entertaining 26 from 22 balls before being bowled by Haworth at 156. Mark Greenhalgh was run out for 5 at 165 leaving Neil Barnes (12 not out) and Steve Juliff (2 not out) to take Accrington to 168-7. Patel removed Stuart Clemson (8) at 30 and Juliff sent back David Pearson (35) at 58 but Mark Lomas hit an unbeaten 69, including six fours and two sixes from 100 balls, adding an unbroken 115 with professional Brendan Julien who hit two fours and a six in an unbeaten 50 to see East Lancs home in the penultimate over. Accrington stay in 9th place with 37 points from 24 games. Scorecard
