Bacup had an easy 8 wicket win at Accrington. David Ormerod took 4-44 as the home side were bowled out for 131. Paul Barratt fought an almost lone battle, hitting an unbeaten 58 with three fours and a six as only Billy Rawstron (13) and professional Shane Warne (12) made double figures of the other batsmen against tight bowling. Roger Harper then made batting look easy as he hit an unbeaten 77, with 13 fours and a six off 69 balls with skipper Peter Thompson (18 not out) adding 67 after the loss of Kenny Gale to Warne and Mark Taylor to Steve Juliff, both for 12.
