Accrington celebrated the return of captain David Lloyd after injury with a 9 wicket win at Ramsbottom. Although not yet fully fit, Lloyd took 3-33 to help restrict the home side to 84-8 in a match reduced to 31 overs a side due to rain. Three run outs also contributed to Ramsbottom's woes and Accrington professional Rod Tucker also took 2-49. Opener Ian Bell was first to go, run out for 6 with the score on 9. Professional Ejaz Fakih was caught by wicketkeeper Billy Rawstron off Tucker for 1 and then Jack Simpson (7) became run out victim number two with 29 on the board. Steven Hall (5) gave Lloyd a return catch at 44 and Brian Taylor was caught behind off Lloyd at the same total without scoring. Two runs later Mark Gowers became run out victim number three. Opener Steve Ashworth had stood firm throughout the tumbling wickets but at 63 he became the 7th wicket to fall, stumped by Rawstron off Lloyd for an 83 ball innings of 33. Steve Ratcliffe fell to Tucker at 66 leaving Paul Compston (10 not out) and Brian Fielding (15 not out) to see out the remaining overs. Accrington lost Neil Barnes (7) to Ratcliffe at 20, but Nick Marsh hit an unbeaten 34 from 83 balls and Tucker an unbeaten 44 from 41 balls to take Accrington to victory in the 23rd over. Accrington stayed in eighth place in the table. Scorecard
