Accrington were on the wrong end of the weather at Colne where they went down to a 10 wicket defeat to the league's bottom club. The rain came at 3pm with Accrington in trouble on 62-6 after 27.2 overs. Colne professional Tyrone Greenidge took 4-30, ripping out opener Billy Rawstron (11) and professional Rod Tucker (0) in successive balls with the score on 12. Geoff Lonsdale removed stand-in skipper Graham Beech (4) at 23 and Greenidge struck again at 40 sending back opener Andy Barker (11). Trevor Hatch top scored with 19 before falling to Greenidge at 51. Trevor Kegg's dismissal of Paul Barratt for 8 at 62 signalled the end of the innings with the players leaving the field. Neil Barnes was unbeaten on 2. Terry Little hit an unbeaten 35 and Paul Simmonite an unbeaten 28 to see Colne to victory after 17.1 overs. Accrington stayed in eighth place in the table. Scorecard
