Accrington beat Burnley by 3 wickets at Thorneyholme Road to complete only their second double of the season. Burnley made 113-5 in a match reduced by rain to 39 overs a-side. Skipper Peter Brown joined Trevor Pickup and the pair took the score to 61 when Pickup was caught by Ian Birtwistle off skipper David Lloyd for 12. Jon Harvey made 19 before Lloyd had him caught by Birtwistle, and Roger Law made 10 before also falling to Birtwistle at 110. Neil Anderson (2 not out) and Barry Bromley (1 not out) were still there at the end of the innings. Accrington lost Neil Barnes (15) at 28 and Rawstron (1) at 46.
