Accrington picked up maximum points for the second day running after a 10 wicket win at East Lancs. Martin Whittle took a career best 5-42 and David Lloyd chipped in with 4-38 to bowl the home side out for 84. Lloyd struck first when he clean bowled Craig Smith without scoring. Whittle's first victim was Daryl Redhead who fell for 7 with the score on 24. Skipper David Pearson was next to go, bowled by Lloyd for 32 in the 27th over with 48 on the board. Pearson faced 92 balls and hit two fours. Wickets then began to tumble on a regular basis with Stuart Clemson (1) falling to Lloyd at 52, Whittle accounted for Nick Westhead at 56, Mark Lomas (1) was run out at 67, Phil Mooney (3) and professional Dave Gilbert (20) fell to Whittle at 77 and 84 with Wayne Cooper (4) and Paul Greenwood (0) being dismissed by Lloyd and Whittle without addition. Sub professional Graham Lloyd and Nick Marsh then knocked off the runs in 25.2 overs. Lloyd junior made an unbeaten 53 from 80 balls with three fours and four sixes to earn a collection of £26. Marsh hit three fours in an unbeaten 28 made from 72 balls. Scorecard
