Accrington's match against Colne ended in a No Result when rain stopped play with the visitors on 34-0 in reply to Accrington's 147 all out. A steady start by left handers Nick Marsh and Geoff Hayhurst saw just 36 runs on the board when Marsh fell to Colne professional Tyrone Greenidge for 20 in the 17th over. Five runs later Greenidge also cleaned up Hayhurst for 19. Sub professional Ian Austin and Graham Beech took the score to 77 when Greenidge took a return catch to end the amateurs innings on 7. The West Indian then clean bowled Austin for 44. After Peter Little had dismissed Billy Rawstron (2), Neil Barnes (6) became wicket number five for Greenidge when Terry Little took the catch. Peter Little then picked up Jim Stevenson for 1 on his senior debut, Paul Barratt (22) and Ian Birtwistle (1) with Greenidge dismissing skipper Alan Worsick (1) to finish with 6-74 from 23 overs.
