Accrington’s match at Burnley was declared a No Result after the home side had smashed 129-7 from just 15 overs in reply to the visitors’ 155-9. Burnley professional Mudassar Nazar (4-78) made early inroads by sending back openers Billy Rawstron (2) and Andy Stevenson (5). Paul Spencer snapped up Neil Jones (4) and Trevor Hatch (6) to have Accrington in serious trouble at 24-4 with Mark Aspin having retired hurt after being hit by a rising ball by Paul Spencer.  Professional David Lloyd led the recovery adding 37 for the 5th wicket with Malcolm Taylor (22). Andy Gardener (15) added 31 with his professional before falling to Trevor Jones who also sent back Neil Barnes on his senior debut. Lloyd fell to his opposite number Mudassar for 31 but Aspin (8) returned to help his skipper Alan Worsick add 54 for the 9th wicket. Worsick hit an unbeaten 36 from 32 balls with 18 coming off the final over of the innings. After losing almost an hour to rain Burnley went for glory despite losing Trevor Pickup and Barry Bromley without scoring. Skipper Peter Brown (9) was run out at 38 but Mudassar found an ally in Paul Killian who made 36 from 33 balls in adding 73 with his professional. Mudassar also fell at 111 bowled by Accrington skipper Alan Worsick (4-51) for 57 made from 54 balls and the chase ended 2 overs later. Scorecard
