Graham Beech top scored with 47 in Accrington’s 161-7. The opener hit seven boundaries in an hour and three quarter innings. He put on 51 for the 1st wicket with Geoff Hayhurst (18) and 40 for the 3rd wicket with Peter West (23). An unbroken 8th wicket stand of 40 between Glyn Davies (18 not out) and Tony Gallagher (23 not out) in just over three overs lifted the score to 161 after John Wainscott had taken 4-47 for Colne. Keith Woodhead made 32, professional Syd Matthews 31 and Trevor Lonsdale 22 with home professional Alan Worsick taking 4-56 as the visitors were restricted to 134-8. Scorecard
