Graham Beech broke Billy Ormerod's 73 year-old amateur batting record for most runs in a season with an innings of 50. The opener was the penultimate wicket to fall as the Accrington innings closed on 127 all out. John Swanney also made 24, adding 45 for the 2nd wicket with Beech. Kenny Lord (3-49) and Peter Fell (3-34) picked up three wickets apiece for Bacup who were then bowled out for 96. Parsons took 5-26 and Worsick 3-53. Roger Law top scored with 28 and professional Mark O'Neill made 15 for Bacup.

Another stand-out statistic for 1977 was the fact that Accrington used just 13 players during the season, finishing 1 point behind champions Enfield with 67 points. Scorecard
