This was the first of two back to back wins over Bacup in the Wakes Weeks.

Bacup declared on 141-8 with sound knocks from professional Sadashiv Patil (39), Peter Barcroft (29), Fred Nuttall (28) and Barry Wilson (23) with Jim Eland taking 4-29 in another fine spell.

Professional Wes Hall spearheaded Accrington’s reply with 52 getting sound support from Russ Cuddihy (18), Martin Welbourne (17) and Derek Rushton (14).
