Accrington begin their 2023 campaign with a trip to Seedhill to play Nelson on Sunday when the 130th Lancashire League season kicks off at 1pm.

Captained once again by Graeme Sneddon and with professional Jacob Clarke returning for a second season, Accrington also include the returning Ali Hasham and Siraj Hussain. Ric Williams will keep wicket.

Nelson include record breaking veteran wicketkeeper Michael Bradley who is set to play his 775th Lancashire League game for the club and returning professional Usman Tariq. Khurram Nazir again captains the team.

For any members and supporters travelling to Nelson please note that the tea room will not be open. This is due to the ongoing repairs to the clubhouse as a result of the flood during the winter. The bar will be open with access via the back entrance by the bowling green steps.

The seconds host Nelson in the reverse fixture with new skipper Afrus Ali in charge.

The thirds were due to host Greenmount on Saturday but the match has been postponed.

Weekend teams

This season we have a double Looking Back Feature going back to 1993 when Neil Johnson was professional and also to 2013 when the club won the Lancashire League title for the last time. The first installments will begin next week.
