Get Solutions Worsley Cup semi finalists Accrington have received a major blow with the news that Jimmy Hayhurst will not bowl again this season.
The 24 year-old opening bowler, who began his career as a junior at Thorneyholme Road before joining Haslingden in 2005, had a scan on Monday which revealed two stress fractures of the spine after being in discomfort for several months.
Hayhurst said: "The specialist said that the fractures were 80-90% healed but he advised me not to bowl again this season. I will have two to three weeks off and then start playing cricket again as a batsman."
