Accrington lose their Prince

April 4th 2002
Accrington must begin a last minute search for a new professional after South African Ashwell Prince pulled out at the eleventh hour due to a shoulder injury. Prince, who had missed most of the South African season due to the shoulder injury, must stay in South Africa for further treatment which caused him to miss the One Day Internationals against Australia.

Now with the new season just 17 days away, the club must begin to search for a replacement. Accrington chairman Peter Barratt explained the club's plight:"Ashwell had a shoulder operation last December and the UCB have told him that he must have treatment on it in order to be fit for selection for the World Cup squad which will be announced on April 10th.
